Katy Perry thrilled an audience of millions during the Super Bowl XLIX halftime with a thrilling performance.
The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks provided fireworks at the end of the first half of NFL match before Perry literally brought some at halftime.
The pop star performed a medley of her biggest hits that ended with her ‘Firework’, which came complete with pyrotechnics and Perry rising stories above the field to sing the song.
Perry was joined by guests Missy Elliott and Lenny Kravitz during the show.
In the lead-up to her performance, Perry said she was taking the 12-and-a-half minutes very seriously.
“There’s an understood trust when they picked me,” Perry told media.
“I’m very conscious, very aware, very present in my life in general at all times and I understand that the 12-and-a-half minutes that I’ve been given comes with a certain standard of responsibility. I will never self-sabotage that moment… I want it to be about the music.”
