PSEi bucks regional downturn, posts 1.39% gain

The local stock barometer climbed back to the 7,300 level yesterday, bucking the downturn across regional markets albeit in thin trading volume. The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) racked up 100.44 points, or 1.39 percent, to close at 7,333.73 as all sectors gained. With a lack of clear positive catalysts locally, Papa Securities said some positivity from the global front had trickled to the local market, citing the strong performance of the US market overnight.
